Performers include current students, Rubicon alumni and notable guests. The evening also includes the presentation of the Second “Rising Star” Award to Jesse Graham. Songs include “That’s What Friends are For,” “Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head,” “Close to You,” “I Say a Little Prayer,” “The Look of Love,” “Walk on By,” and more. Tickets are $39.50 for adults and $15 for children and students.

More about Burt Bacharach

The late Burt Bacharach won three Academy Awards throughout his extensive career, two for “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” (Best Original Score and Best Original Song), and one for “Arthur,” also Best Original Song. Both winning songs –“Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head” (performed by B.J. Thomas) and “Arthur’s Theme (Best That You Can Do)” (performed by Christopher Cross), were named by the American Film Institute as two of the greatest movie songs in history.

In addition to those wins, Burt Bacharach received Oscar nominations for songs he wrote for “What’s New, Pussycat?” “Alfie” and “Casino Royale,” and received seven Golden Globe nominations and numerous Grammys, including a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008, where he was deemed “greatest living composer.”

Burt Bacharach’s other film credits include the title song to the science-fiction classic “The Blob,” “Night Shift,” and “A Boy Called Po” (his final movie credit). He made a cameo in the “Austin Powers” trilogy performing “What the World Needs Now is Love.”

Burt Bacharach’s music career goes back to the 1950s, often teaming with Hal David to immense success. His first song was released in 1952 and he charted on the Billboard U.S. Pop just two years later. From there, Mr. Bacharach proved a vital figure in the pop music world throughout the 1950s and 1960s. He produced albums for the artists including Neil Diamond, Barbra Streisand and Dionne Warwick. His last #1 pop hit was “On My Own,” performed by Patti LaBelle and Michael McDonald.
