There are few cities where theatre is woven so completely into everyday life as Dublin.

As the birthplace of Yeats, Synge, Shaw, Beckett, Wilde, and countless contemporary playwrights, Dublin is a city where history and storytelling meet on every corner.

During our 8-day, 7-night journey, we’ll immerse ourselves in Ireland’s extraordinary theatrical tradition while enjoying elegant accommodations, exceptional dining, fascinating guided tours, and performances at some of Europe’s most celebrated theatres.

We’ll spend seven nights at Dublin’s elegant five-star Westbury Hotel, ideally located just off vibrant Grafton Street in the heart of the city. Its central location allows us to explore many of Dublin’s most iconic theatres, museums, restaurants, parks, and historic landmarks on foot, creating a truly immersive experience.

While our theatre schedule won’t be finalized until closer to departure, we anticipate performances at several of Dublin’s most renowned venues, including the Abbey Theatre, Gate Theatre, Smock Alley Theatre, Gaiety Theatre, and others. As always, Karyl Lynn will keep her ear to the ground as new productions are announced so we can curate another unforgettable theatrical experience.

We truly believe this journey will be one of our most memorable Theatre Lovers’ Trips yet, and we hope you’ll join us as we experience together the extraordinary theatres, history, beauty, and warm hospitality of Dublin. Along the way, you’ll enjoy the friendship, personalized service, and individual attention that have become the hallmark of our Theatre Lovers’ Trips. The trip will be hosted by Rubicon’s Chief of Staff Perla Ponti, incoming Artistic Director Dr. Jonathan Drahos, and Rubicon’s Co-Founder Karyl Lynn Burns has agreed to come out of retirement for the week to join us and curate the trip, catch up with Rubicon friends and welcome new travelers!

Your Irish Adventure Includes:

  • Seven nights in a luxury five-star Dublin hotel.
  • Performances at several of Ireland’s legendary theatres.
  • A full-day excursion to Powerscourt Estate & Gardens, with the possibility of visiting Glendalough.
  • Guided visits to Trinity College and the Book of Kells, Dublin Castle, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Temple Bar, Merrion Square, and other iconic sites.
  • Your choice of a Hop-on, Hop-off tour or a walking tour of literary Dublin.
  • A memorable dinner at one of Dublin’s Michelin-starred restaurants.
  • Behind-the-scenes theatre experiences whenever possible.
  • An optional pub crawl to hear traditional Irish music.
  • Plenty of free time to explore Dublin at your own pace.
  • Transportation to/from the airport for those who choose the same flights as staff.

Airfare will not be included, allowing travelers the flexibility to use airline miles, extend their travels, or make their own flight arrangements.

Please note that this trip is designed as a walking tour of Dublin. Most days will include walks of approximately 15 to 30 minutes between theatres, restaurants, and historic sites, often over uneven sidewalks and cobblestone streets. While we’ll enjoy a leisurely pace with frequent opportunities to rest, guests should be comfortable walking these distances throughout the week to fully enjoy the experience.
