DANNY WHEETMAN AND JERRY FLETCHER IN CONCERT
WITH SPECIAL GUEST BILL FLORES
These nationally acclaimed artists got their start in Ventura County and have played with John Denver, Steve Martin, R Crumb, and the Cheap Suit Serenaders!
Two lifetimes of music come together in one extraordinary evening. Tony nominee Danny Wheetman and Jerry Fletcher’s deep Americana roots feed the music and the sensibilities of their combined vision. Growing up locally and playing in bands since school days in Simi Valley, they have honed their talents and their love and appreciation of the Gift of Music and what it can do to join souls together in celebration and just plain fun. From ballads to rhythm and blues, the scope of their musical language touches on many traditions and sources with a reverence for those who have gone before. Danny has served as musical director and arranger for Rubicon shows including Lonesome Traveler, I Dig Rock and Roll Music, and, most recently, Cowboy Lullaby, in which he also starred. He was a Tony nominee for Ain’t Nothin’ But the Blues and won the L.A. Drama Critics Circle Award for Cider House Rules. A multi-instrumentalist (bass, rhythm guitar, fiddle, harmonica, banjo, Dobro, lap steel), Dan is also beloved for his resonant baritone and wry humor. Jerry Fletcher brings his versatility to keys and accordion. Don’t miss this joyous, enlightening evening of stories and songs from these longtime friends, joined by local string wizard Bill Flores of the Rincon Ramblers.
