Songs We Love
An Education Benefit Concert
Featuring concert pianist Miriam Arichea and soprano, Rubicon summer youth alumna, Madeline Gambon.
All proceeds support Rubicon Theatre’s education programs.
Join us at the Poinsettia Pavilion for an elegant Sunday evening of music, premium wine, and good company. Concert pianist Miriam Arichea and soprano Madeline Gambon present a recital that moves seamlessly from the classical canon to the American musical theatre songbook. Guests are invited to arrive early, enjoy a glass of wine, and settle in for an intimate concert experience in one of Ventura’s most beautiful venues.
Miriam has led Rubicon’s Advanced Musical Theatre Workshop and summer youth programs since 2011. Madeline, a graduate of those programs, is now a professional stage actor, recently appearing as Cosette in Les Misérables and Faye West in How the West Was Really Won. This special evening reunites them in support of the education programs that first brought them together.
The program includes works by Chopin, Liszt, Debussy, Rachmaninoff, Margaret Bonds, George Walker, and Nikolai Kapustin, alongside songs by Sondheim, Loesser, Styne, Schwartz, Flaherty, Guettel, and Jason Robert Brown, plus a Gershwin standard in Earl Wild’s celebrated arrangement.
